What's so special about Calcium Montmorillonite  Clay?

... and why is it called a "living Clay"?

Calcium Montomrrillonite Clay is a recognized topical that does four things to improve the condition and maintain the health and appearance of the skin.

1. It helps rid the skin of excess oils.

It belongs to the smectite group of clays -- the only clays with an extraordinary ability to absorb and adsorb excess oils from the skin.  Absorption occurs when these fatty substances are down out of the skin and into the clay. Together, these processes act on a molecular level, giving this unique clay an almost lifelike dynamic power. As it draws the excess oil into itself, the clay grows in volume, and that's why it's called a "living Clay." Among other benefits, the removal of excess oils helps to clear up acne and pimples. Even middle age people who are not susceptible to acne get pimples from time to time, and as with acne, the most defective treatment is removal of excess skin oils.

2. It is a detoxifying agent.

Living Clay removes skin toxins in precisely the same way that i gets rid of  excess oils.

3. It is a skin Nutrient.

Living Clay is reported to contain no less than 67 minerals. Including calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, manganese and silica, as well as many trace elements.

4. It is an effective antibacterial.

Most of the Living Clay particles are smaller than bacteria. When bacteria encounter the clay, they are unable to receive nourishment and cannot survive. So the same clay that provides mineral nutrients to the skin also starves the bacteria.
